Everything You Need to Know About Surf Ranch Pro 2019

Another round of surfing championship will take place in California this year. The Surf Ranch Pro 2019 will run from September 19-22, 2019 in Surf Ranch, an infamous wave pool created by legendary surfer Kelly Slater in Lemoore, California.

After making waves in the pro surfing scene, Slater made waves again but this time while catching the “perfect” waves in his wave pool in a farming town in San Joaquin Valley.

After his videos went viral, a lot of surfers have taken interest in the 155-acre compound that is now dedicated for surfers to practice and catch waves without going far. Surf Ranch also offers surf lessons for beginners and hosts up to six championships every year, the most popular being the Surf Ranch Pro held every September.

After hosting the Founder’s Cup, Surf Ranch has gone on to host several surfing events by the World Surf League. But none of them attracts more spectators than Surf Ranch Pro. In fact, Sophie Goldschmidt, the CEO of the World Surf League said that a wave pool could be considered as a location for the Olympics in the future.

Surf Ranch doesn’t only boast of its huge man-made wave pool, but it also has a venue for musical performances, training rooms, camping sites, vending spaces and other recreational facilities that make it a great location for surfers and spectators alike. The project is expected to be complete by 2026 and will have seven structures including a  wave operations building where 1.2 million gallons of water will generate perfect waves for surfers to catch.

The King’s County Planning Commission finally approved the expansion of the venue after much deliberation since it will be a great for California’s tourism. Up to 8,000 spectators can enjoy the  surfing events held in Surf Ranch. It is also a great boost for Lemoore that is usually known as an agricultural area.

Travelling to Lemoore is easy because it’s near the Meadows Field Airport and the Fresno Yosemite Airport. Lemoore is also located just off Routes 41 and 198 if you’re driving from another state. The 5 freeway will give you the exact route to the town.
